Most computers using the Windows and Mac operating systems listed above in bold should meet the minimal requirements. Provided below are the installation startup files for these operating systems, ones considered to be the most widely used. If you are using a much older operating system not listed above, see if there is an Acrobat Reader version available for your platform at this Website:

Adobe Acrobat Reader will allow you to view and print PDF files contained on this CD.

Installation Startup File for Windows 95 and Windows 98 (original version)

Installation Startup File for Windows 98 Second Edition, Windows Me, Windows XP, Windows NT 4.0 with Service Pack 5, or Windows 2000 users

Installation Startup File for Mac OS 8.6, 9.0.4, 9.1, or Mac OS X users

Installation Startup File for Mac OS 9.1, 9.2, or 9.2.2, or Mac OS X v.10.1.3, 10.1.5, or 10.2 users

Installation Startup File for Mac OS X v.10.2.2-10.2.6 users

Internet Explorer users - Select the Open button after clicking on one of the links above.

Netscape users - After clicking on the installing link above, a Save As box will appear asking you the location for saving the installation startup file. From the Save in drop-down menu located towards the top of the box, select Desktop. Then click the Save button. This action will save the installation startup file to your Desktop. Go to your Desktop. Find the icon with the installation startup file name you just downloaded underneath it. Double-click on the icon.

Installation Instructions - Windows 95 and Windows 98 (original version) users

Click Next on the first screen that appears.

The next screen shows the pre-defined folder designated for Acrobat Reader's software files. It is recommended that this folder not be changed. Click the Next button when you are ready to proceed.

The software files will be copied to your computer and installed. A small box indicating installation success should appear at the conclusion of the installation process. Click the OK button.

 

Installation Instructions - All other Windows versions listed above

Setup data will first be recomposed. This make take a few moments to accomplish.

On the first setup screen, click Next.

On the second setup screen, click Next.

The next screen shows the pre-defined folder designated for Acrobat Reader's software files. It is recommended that this folder not be changed. Click the Next button when you are ready to proceed.

The next screen indicates the wizard is ready for installation. Click the Install button.

NOTE: If your computer uses Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows XP, you will most likely need administrative rights to the computer in order to install this software.

The software files will be copied to your computer and installed. A small box indicating installation success should appear at the conclusion of the installation process. Click the Finish button.

 

Instructions for installing Adobe Acrobat Reader on a MacIntosh computer are not available here. Please consult a technical person within your organization if you need help in this matter.
